An announcement has been made that the principle contractors have been appointed to break ground on construction of the new $158 million Brisbane International Cruise Terminal.
Things will kick of from March with the site being cleared and construction works starting in April
Minister for State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning Cameron Dick was quoted recently discussing the project;
“The Port of Brisbane’s $158 million Brisbane International Cruise Terminal signals bright horizons for the cruising industry in Queensland.” “It is expected to contribute $1.3 billion in net expenditure into the Brisbane economy alone over the coming two decades.”
“An estimated 245 jobs will be supported during each year of construction, while an additional 49 jobs will be supported each year over the next 20 years”. “Queenslanders are eagerly awaiting the opening of the terminal next year, which will be ready for the 2020 cruising season.”
This new Brisbane infrastructure along with other infrastructure projects such as the Airport upgrade, Cross River Rail, and Queens Wharf all are positive signs for the Brisbane Property market, providing employment and international exposure for our corner of the world.
